I teach Drums, Music Production (Ableton), live show coaching/set up, and DJing.
I love music and feel that everyone is capable of playing an instrument. Everyone learns differently and it’s super rewarding to me when I find a way to describe a technique or concept and I see it click with the student.
I studied jazz at the University of Northern Colorado and have since toured the world with artists of all genres for the past 10 years. One of my favorite things about music is that there’s always room to grow and always something new to learn. After college, I started writing and producing for a band I was in which got me hooked into using music software for everything from writing and producing to building live sets, programming lights, and DJing.
In my teaching, I take into account the individuality of every student. I adapt my teaching style based on the students' needs and what they want to achieve as a musician. My experience in music is broad enough for me to be able to apply real-world knowledge to students' interest in any genre. I work at the student's pace and believe that learning an instrument should be fun!
First and foremost, I’m a fan. It’s what led me to take drum lessons, practice, start bands in high school, and eventually play music professionally - and it’s still what drives me today. There’s no shortage of amazing, innovative music out there. With that and how quickly music technology advances, there’s always something new to learn.
